For the past two tournaments

I’ve been in south Florida qualifying for the Champion’s Tour. Unsuccessfully, from the standpoint of getting in the events. However, I’m very encouraged with the way I’m playing. In the first attempt, for the Alliance championship I shot 67 and lost in a five man playoff for the fifth spot. In the playoff I birdied three of the five holes, but I should have made my first birdie on the first hole after every person made their par. So I really had a free shot at winning on the first hole, the putt just curled out and I made a three footer to stay in the playoff. Lee Rinker birdied the fifth hole for the spot after my putt rolled by the edge.
This past week at Old Corkscrew, which is a Jack Nicklaus design, I shot even par 72, however missed by two shots. I had opportunities all through the back nine, however, I just couldn’t seem to get the putts to drop. This is the life of a professional golfer, and I wouldn’t recommend qualifying as a way to get into the tournaments, but for me it’s the only game in town, so I’m giving it my best as see where it takes me. All in all I’m encouraged by my play and I have been out in the sunlight which has been so wonderful.
Grey Oaks this week is having their Men’s Invitational, which is a big event at the club. The members all enjoy the stag night with a putting contest, The Hit-man Hitter, is always a great show, along with a great dinner. It’s like all the staff are keyed up to help all the men have the time of their lives. Guests from all over the world participate with their prospective member, and the fun is just starting this morning with a 7 O Clock breakfast, and a shotgun start at 8:30. The grand finale is a formal party Saturday night, which is a wonderful time for all the members to bask in all their glory after winning the division with their guests and wives. I look forward to seeing all the members that I haven’t seen since last fall.
Stay tuned for the updates. I’ll let you know all the details later. Have a wonderful week and think Spring!
